There are several options for disposing waste tires in Shasta County. The City of Redding Transfer Station and Landfill offer the cheapest tire disposal costs in Shasta County. Other disposal sites include the City of Anderson Landfill or other private haulers. For those wanting to transport more than 9 tires to a disposal site, they must contact the Shasta County Department of Resource Management for a FREE tire hauler letter (contact info. below).
Shasta County currently has a grant to remove illegally dumped tires for non-AG zoned properties. Exceptions can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
For more information on waste tire disposal opportunities, including notifications for FREE waste tire collection events, please contact Jennifer Myhrvold at Shasta County Dept. of Resource Management at recycle@shastacounty.gov | 530-245-6901
