Parks and Recreation Commission Responsibilities
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission consists of five members that are residents of the City. Members are appointed by City Council and serve up to a two year term. The City Council may also appoint a youth member who is a resident of the City to serve as an advisory, non-voting member for a one year term. The Commission serves as an advisory board to the City Council on all maters related to parks and recreation. The decisions of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission are subject to appeal to the City Council and the Council has final say in all City matters (see Municipal Code 2.18).
Meetings
Regular meetings are held the second Thursday of each month, at 4:30 p.m. at the Larry J. Farr Community Center, 4499 Main Street, Shasta Lake, CA 96019. Special meetings will be held on occasion and will be noticed at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled time. Meetings are open to the public.
